Mission Statement

The Junior League of Napa-Sonoma is an organization of women committed to improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. We reach out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who are interested in and committed to voluntarism. A prospective member must be at least 21 years of age and possess an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service, and an interest in developing her potential for voluntary community participation.

Since April 1991, we have been focusing our efforts on child assault prevention. Our current projects include: supporting the Child Assault Prevention Program in Napa County, the Valley of the Moon Children's Center in Sonoma County, and the Blue Ribbon Campaign in both counties. As of May 1998, we have contributed more than $90,000 to these programs as well as hundreds of volunteer hours to assure that important educational information is made available to children, parents, and school staff, in an attempt to reduce the incidence of child abuse. We are also researching other possible programs in which to expand our work in the area of child assault prevention.

We are always looking to help others, now we are assisting in finding a home for the youth of Sonoma County that are aging out of foster care. We are partnering with an organization called On The Move to open a V.O.I.C.E.S center in Sonoma modeled after the center they opened in Napa County. Check us out we would love for you to join!
