Mission Statement

A Safe and Comfortable Place For Sexual Minority Teens Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons, their families and friends through: ADVOCACY, to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights ; EDUCATION, to enlighten an ill informed public; SUPPORT, to cope with an adverse society. The Dayton, Ohio Chapter of PFLAG is affiliated with the national organization. PFLAG chapters are located in more than 360 communities across the United States and in 11 countries. Youth First is an affiliate of PFLAG, which provides a safe and comfortable place for sexual minority teens and their straight allies.

Description

Youth First - Greater Dayton has three main goals:

To provide a support system for sexual minority youth.

To educate youth in risk behavior reduction,including those associated with HIV/AIDS infection and risks associated with substance abuse.

To provide a safe and comfortable environment for sexual minority youth to socialize and meet.
