Womanshelter/Companeras is dedicated to assisting, supporting, and empowering those whose lives are affected by battering and abuse. We strive to reduce and prevent domestic violence through public awareness efforts.

Description

Womanshelter/Companeras (W/C) provides comprehensive services including emergency, confidential shelter; 24-hour crisis and support line; individual counseling (including safety planning, risk assessment, and emotional support); support groups in English, Spanish, and Russian; in-court advocacy at three courts; a homelessness prevention program; housing, medical, and economic advocacy; information and referrals; and community outreach and education. W/C also strives to reduce and prevent domestic violence through public awareness and outreach efforts. The overall goal of the organization is to increase safety and opportunities for self-sufficiency and healing for victims and survivors of domestic violence.
