Mission Statement

The mission of Journeys Hospice is to provide comprehensive coordinated care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and to their families throughout the greater Boise area of the Treasure Valley.

It is the role of Hospice to maintain the patient's dignity, serve their needs emotionally, physically, and spiritually to the highest degree possible and feasible, and to lend both moral and physical support to the family.

Including Hospic e care in the dying process is to be assured of having strong and caring support.

Description

Comfort care from a dedicated and caring team can make a meaningful difference for those facing end of life, and for their loved ones. The hospice team can reduce physical pain, ease emotional and spiritual suffering, and facilitate financial and legal activities as needed.

Hospice care received in the home gives patients and family members the peace and comfort of familiar surroundings and the closeness of friends and loved-ones. The support needed to make this possible is provided by Journeys Hospice’s team of professional and volunteer staff.

Care is focused on pain management and symptom control. This approach allows the patient to continue normal activities as long as possible and encourages family members to be present and to participate in the patient’s care.

All services of the hospice team as well as medications and durable medical equipment necessary for the comfort of the patient are included under insurance coverage
