Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Allay Hospice consistently strives to provide the best, most compassionate care that can be experienced through the last phase of life's journey. Our goal is to ensure that those with a life-limiting illness live each day to the fullest in comfort and dignity. At Allay, we are committed to taking care of our patients and families as we would our own.
Hospice is not a place, but a special way of caring that promotes one's quality of life and death with dignity. When medicine cannot provide a cure, Allay Hospice offers patients and their families the comfort, compassion and assistance necessary to maintain the best possible quality of life.
At Allay, we consider it a privilege and responsibility to give terminally ill patients the opportunity to complete their lives with grace. We do that by tending to their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. In addition to nursing, spiritual care and social work services, one of our goals is to connect hospice patients with a volunteer who is trained as part of the hospice team to provide non-medical assistance and companionship. These volunteers help to personalize, support and enhance the services that Allay offers.
We take pride in connecting our volunteers' ability and experience to areas that will best serve our patients and families. For some volunteers, it is his or her ability to be a comforting presence and a good listener; for others, it is sharing a specific skill or talent. Our volunteers work side by side with hospice professionals in providing comfort and care when it is needed most.
Allay is a locally owned hospice with offices in Brookfield, Mequon and Racine to serve all communities of Southeastern Wisconsin. For all of our volunteer opportunities, the amount of time you give is flexible and assignments are based on your availability and location; we do our best to assign volunteers within or near their own community.
