Mission Statement

The mission of Kensington High School for the Creative and Performing Arts is to provide our students with a rigorous academic program and comprehensive educational experiences in a safe, supportive learning environment which will prepare students for postsecondary studies, careers, and opportunities in the fields of the expressive arts.

Kensington CAPA has an incredibly diverse student population from not only the Kensington neighborhood, but also other communities throughout Philadelphia. Our teachers come from equally varied backgrounds and experiences. This is a source of pride for the school, and we like to think it makes the education our students get a more well-rounded one.

Kensington CAPA is proud to support its students in preparing for post-secondary education, applying to colleges, and transitioning to college life. We incorporate college-preparedness into everything we do here at KCAPA, and hold our own College Week, in addition to the city-wide week.
