Mission Statement

The YSO exists to share our passion for music through innovative programming, creative collaboration, and arts advocacy. We actively contribute to the music appreciation and education of our musicians, organizational members and audience.

Description

The YSO is a primarily volunteer community orchestra serving the needs of Ypsilanti and the surrounding communities. The YSO actively encourages diversity in its audience, membership and guest artists. Each year at least one concert in the season is geared toward children/young adults. The YSO collaborates with many local musical groups and strives to maintain a relaxed, friendly atmosphere in its events and membership.
