The mission of the Florida Division of Forestry is to protect Florida and its people from dangers of wildland fire and manage the forest resources through a stewardship ethic to assure they are available for future generations.

Description

Withlacoochee State Forest is a 157,500 acres, located in the central part of Florida. This state forest boasts the largest recreational opportunities in the state forest system. There are nine developed campgrounds, numerous day use areas, and hundreds of miles dedicated to hiking, biking and horseback riding. The areas also feature a wide variety of water related opportunities. This is a nature lovers paradise.
