Mission Statement

Blueberry Park is a 20 acre park owned by The Metropolitan Park Dist containing more than 4000 60 year old blueberry plants. This acerage was once a working blueberry farm. For the last seven years volunteers from the neighborhood, organizations, schools etc. have cleared the bushes of scotch broom and blackberry vines and other invasive materials. In addition volunteers have trimmed back 2000 plants to allow for new growth and more harvest of berries. We have 2000 more plants to prune plus wetland areas to cear of unwanted materials. Its a great park all year round. Berries ripen July through October.

Description

Volunteers can prune, rake, remove invasive materials, mow and spread bark. While enjoying a social time with other interested park appreciators.
