Description

Southern Oregon's Migrant Education Department provides help with education and other needs for children and young adults who move frequently because thier parents follow jobs in orchards, canning, reforestation, fishing, ranching, dairy, meat packing, or other temporary or seasonal agriculture work. Our services are meant to supplement for educational disruptions and give students the opportunity to reach their academic potential.

Migrant Education provides after-school programs, summer school, migrant preschool, senior transition services, and in-school and out of school tutoring.

The staff is dedicated to serving the student population and provides excellent support for volunteers. The students are very motivated, hard working, and delightful to work with. A well run program with a very worthwhile mission that's accomplished in the day to day work with the students. SOESD Migrant Education is a very rewarding program to work with; a perfect place to enhance and develop professional skills in working with students; and a great way to make a positive impact in the community.
