Mission Statement

The Bay Area Urban Debate League is a non-profit organization that works with San Francisco Bay Area public school districts to create and maintain debate teams in under-resourced urban schools.

Description

Believing that debate increases students’ academic performance and trains them to become community leaders, the BAUDL works to make competitive policy debate available to Bay Area high school students.

With every year in the program, Urban Debaters increase literacy scores by 25% and raise GPAs by around 10%.

Urban Debaters have a HS graduation rate nearly 100% more than their peers, and four-year college matriculation rates around 80%.
