Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide sanctuary for abused, abandoned and unwanted companion animals of our community, a place where they may experience compassion and healing. We promote humane treatment, responsible pet care, and the prevention of cruelty through example and education."
The best place for homeless animals is to be in a temporary loving home until their permanent one is found. Volunteers for Safe Haven
provide this wonderful environment for these orphans. In our homes these animals receive loving care and the socialization they need to be
ready to enter into their new family life once they are adopted out. Any volunteer interested in becoming a foster family to one of our homeless animals is urged to contact us and we will provide you with the training needed to qualify. Won't you consider extending your hand and heart to an animal in great need?
Description
About Safe Haven
Safe Haven is an all-volunteer, registered 501(c)3 non profit organization, dedicated to finding solutions to the pet overpopulation problem in Southern Maine.
We believe that by joining forces, networking and learning together, we can save even more lives. So Safe Haven is building a coalition of shelters and rescue groups in southern York County.
We promote spaying and neutering, adoption of shelter and rescue animals, humane rescue of feral cats and educating our community on how they can help and become involved.
