Community Connections NV is local organization dedicated to providing community-based services that support, guide, and inspire people to build a variety of life skills. We are able to serve the population through numerous programs, each focusing on different groups in our community. We serve our children through low-cost after-school care, exciting, low-cost summer programs, and one-on-one mentoring opportunities. We are also able to provide services for the adults in the area through different community classes. During the holidays, we are also able to put together assistance programs for our families.
We are dedicated to inspiring and supporting our community to grow and become more successful. CCNV is always in search of volunteers like you to help make our mission a reality.
Homework and Activities Club (HAC) Community Connections provides school aged children with a safe environment to attend after school with our Homework and Activities Club. This program is meant to help children realize their full potential and they have the chance to be better in this world. In this club we try to focus on keeping a safe environment with adults children feel they can trust, as well providing assistance in school, teaching life skills and learning to be confident for their future. By having activities that build confidence and self-esteem we hope to accomplish the following:
- Target peer pressure with positive role models
- Provide education and recreational activities
- Provide a safe, trusting environment.
Summer Fun Club (SFC) - This program is a structured addition to HAC to continue throughout the summer at the school. However, this is a full day club for children to attend to be in a safe environment and to continue to learn to grow throughout the summer with many activities, field trips and educational projects, including a full STEM program under Pearl Project.
Community Resources - Community Connections provides resources to help families grow with their children. To include providing temporary assistance with food, peer counseling, and educational assistance and resources.
Winter Wonderland - Winter Wonderland teaches children altruism and allows them to show their appreciation for parents and caregivers. This is done by providing an opportunity for the children to select a gift from Winter Wonderland Shoppe at the school, at no cost to themselves. All gifts are donated by generous donors throughout the community.
Holiday Assistance - This program is geared towards giving families the chance to have items for the holidays. Community Connections finds sponsors and partners for these families to provide gifts, food or other needed items for the families. These are families that are identified through the school or in the community that need assistance.
