Description

I Am O'KAH! Inc, was founded in May 2011 and is a non-profit tax-exempt organization recognized under IRS tax code section 501(c)(3). The organization was named after Kahdine Ann DaCosta, a native New Yorker that transplanted to Baltimore, MD in 1997 to attend Morgan State University. As an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Alpha Delta chapter, Kahdine served her community and the local Baltimore city school system. In February of 2004, Kahdine passed away from breast cancer at the tender age 26, leaving behind many dreams and aspirations of community service and civic engagement. I AM O'KAH! is the legacy of her philanthropic spirit and the dreams she left behind.

The organization works to establish urban resiliency through partnerships with schools and other community organizations. Key areas addressed will include Digital/Media Literacy, Financial Literacy, Green/Environmental Literacy, Personal and Social Responsibility.

I AM O'KAH! provides services to students in grades 6-12.

Additionally, we provide merit-based scholarships to eligible high school seniors that demonstrate a commitment to community service and academic achievement.
