Mission Statement

The MVRPC is a forum and resource where regional partners identify priorities, develop public policy and implement collaborative strategies to improve the quality of life and economic vitality throughout the Miami Valley.

Description

The MVRPC's Senior Transportation Expansion Project seeks to:

  • connect seniors in need to existing transportation programs
  • help those programs to increase the number of rides they can provide
Expanding the number of volunteers for Montgomery County non-profit and municipal senior transportation programs is critical to improving quality of life for our elders. These programs need volunteers to serve as drivers and office/dispatch help. Some programs provide vans and sedans; others require the use of personal cars. Participating programs include the City of Kettering's Lathrem Senior Center, Life Essentials, and the Handivan ministries of Trotwood and Brookville. There is also great demand for volunteers to start new programs in underserved areas. Call Kate at 531-6524 for more information.
