Mission Statement

ExtraFood's mission is to help end hunger and wasted food in Marin County, California.

Description

The volunteers of ExtraFood.org pick up excess food from Marin organizations -- such as grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, and schools -- and immediately deliver it to Marin nonprofits that serve our most vulnerable children, adults, and families. Volunteers can sign up for regular pickups/deliveries or on an ad-hoc basis. In 4 years we've organized, recovered and delivered 1.7M pounds of food from 200+ donors to 100 sites across Marin. We reach more than 6,000 people every month with nutritious, fresh food.
