To secure funding for approximately 100 students & chaperones to participate in the American Choral Directors Association National Convention in Miami, Florida, Spring 2007. Fundraising Goal: $100,000.

Description

HISD's Parker Elementary Advanced Chorus has been selected from among 286 choirs to participate in the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Convention. Parker Elementary was the ONLY elementary school in the nation chosen to perform. Parker is a magnet school with a focus on music education. 47% of Parker's student body are economically disadvantaged. Children will have the experience to show what can be accomplished in a public school! This event will help to improve their musicianship and apply the skills they have learned through their studies.
