Mission Statement

The Williamson County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is dedicated to serving the best interests of children who have been sexually or physically abused.

We, at the Center, are their Voice.

We believe:

All children should be free of abuse and neglect.

All children should have the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential in a safe and loving environment.

It is in the best interest of abused children to have collaboration among agencies working on their behalf.

It is important to educate the public on the issues of child abuse and neglect.

Description

The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) assists in the coordination of the investigation, prosecution and treatment services for children ages 0-18 and their non-offending caregivers when there has been an allegation of sexual or severe physical abuse. The CAC is a child friendly facility where children come to tell their abuse story to a trained forensic interviewer. The child is then referred for medical treatment and counseling. The children and families then work with a CAC advocate who assists them through criminal court and the prosecution of the alleged offender.
