Mission Statement

The Merrimack Valley Community Music School is a community-based, non-profit music school that is dedicated to helping people connect through music education and performance. Music at its best brings people together and creates positive energy within a community as a common language that bonds us beyond cultural, social and economic differences. Music education is a powerful way to learn about oneself and to explore the possibilities that lie within each of us, to reach for our highest good and potential.

Description

The Merrimack Valley Community Music School (formerly the Andover Community Music School) is a group of musicians and music lovers who are dedicated to connecting people in the community through music. Music functions at its best when it is performed and shared in a community environment. At MVCMS we are passionate about creating a very special music center for the Merrimack Valley area that nurtures these types of experiences. We provide a comprehensive curiculum of music education that can prepare any music student for any level of music performance that they desire. We also provide music appreciation classes and regular public concerts. Merrimack Valley Community Music School is a registered as a non-profit corporation in the State of Massachusetts. We are registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit with the IRS. We are governed by a board of directors. We are a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, an organization that advances high-quality, community arts education so that all people may participate in the arts according to their interests and abilities.
