Description

Overview

Founded in 1990, Community Consulting Teams (CCT) of Boston has helped over 170 Boston-area nonprofits using more than 600 alumni volunteers to clarify their mission, evaluate new service opportunities, create effective marketing approaches, and improve the efficiency of their operations.

CCT serves socially conscious and innovative nonprofits that have critical strategic or management challenges. Our projects are staffed by professional alumni volunteers recruited from the top-ranked business schools who work together in teams to define, research, analyze and solve our clients’ issues. We offer volunteers a meaningful service opportunity to join with other like-minded alumni in support of the common goal of strengthening the greater community.

CCT is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.

Volunteers

CCT attracts the majority of its volunteers through the local alumni associations of leading business schools including: Tuck, Wharton, Sloan, Kellogg, Stanford, Darden, Fuqua, Johnson, and Yale, among others. Anyone with a MBA or equivalent from a leading business school is welcome at CCT. CCT recruits volunteers who are excellent team players, problem solvers, and communicators.

Volunteering with CCT was a great experience for me for three reasons. First, I had the opportunity to gain experience in a new field. Second, it gave me invaluable insight into the workings of non-profits, expanding my knowledge base in that area. Finally, I was able to work in great team of professionals with diverse backgrounds, but uniform commitment to meeting the client’s needs. I highly recommend it!

I have worked on eight projects to date with Community Consulting Teams. The client experience is always thought-provoking and rewarding. I gain tremendous satisfaction from using my business skills to help Boston-area nonprofit organizations thrive, and I am intrigued to have an inside view of a diverse group of nonprofits. In addition, I have enjoyed working with CCT volunteers both as professional colleagues and as friends. Community Consulting Teams has definitely been a positive addition to my life experience. I would highly recommend getting involved with CCT.

I had the great pleasure of volunteering for CCT Boston. It's was a great way to give back to the community by working with other non-profit organizations while gaining valuable business experience from other like minded professionals who share similar experiences and education backgrounds. I was given the option to choose from really great projects to work on and it was nice to see the great relationship CCT had with its clients. The experience was a truly fulfilling one and as a recent graduate, it was a great learning experience.
