Mission Statement

Mission Statement - The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, though research, education, advocacy, and service.

Come join the San Fernando Valley's largest campout and walk to a cancer Cure! Relay for Life is a unique 24-Hour event to increase cancer awareness in your community while raising much-needed funds for the American Cancer Society. Each Team has at least 10 people, who take turns walking or running around a track. Participants camp out enjoying music, entertainment and food while building team spirit to help in the fight against cancer.

In 2007, The American Cancer Society will host a total of 5 Relay for Life Events in the San Fernando Valley area. The Relay for Life is community developed and volunteer driven and it offers everyone in a community to participate in the fight against cancer.

The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers that are passionate about finding a cure for cancer, community-oriented and interested in working in events. We are looking for volunteers from San Fernando Valley, Chatsworth, Pacific Palisades, Calabasas, and Agoura Hills. We need your help before, during and after the Event. All talents and interests are welcome!
