Mission Statement

The purpose of the Orchestra is to create and maintain a non-profit community orchestra, offer qualified instrumentalists an opportunity to perform symphonic music, foster music education, and encourage talented individuals to appear as vocal, instrumental, and choreographic soloists.

Description

Founded in 1992, the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra is presents symphonic music for the Fort Bend community. The full-size orchestra, complete with brass, woodwind, percussion, and strings section, consists of approximately 60 talented and dedicated musicians primarily from the Fort Bend area. As one of the area's most respected musical organizations, the FBSO has distinguished itself through its focus on presenting an unusually broad range of music by exceptionally skilled professionals, students and amateurs, as well as through its emphasis on developing a broad-based audience. The Symphony is proud of its work in helping to provide an additional venue for students in the surrounding areas. We want to provide an opportunity to perform great musical compositions and impart lasting musical and social values to both the members of the orchestra and the Fort Bend community.

This organization is supported in part by a generous donation from The National Endowment for the Arts, and in part from the continued patronage of individual donors.
