The I.S.Y program is an academic enrichment program designed to use our participants' strengths to build a bridge to their weaknesses using an engaging and relevant format. We accomplish this goal through classroom based, innovative student projects, teen to child teaching, and summer jobs.
Through our award winning lesson plan projects, we create a path for struggling teens to experience increased success and confidence academically and to encourage them to become lifelong learners.
Through our "Teen Teacher" training program, our teens take the knowledge they have acquired in class and turn it into real life skills by becoming the experts and instructing elementary students.
Through field trips and internship and employment opportunities we provide them with real world experiences to increase cultural and social sophistication, polish, self-esteem, and leadership skills.
Our program teaches high level critical thinking skills, improves communication and public speaking skills, encourages kindness, builds friendships, and teaches nonviolent problem solving techniques.
