Mission Statement

The Creek Steward Program works to restore creek habitat, improve drainage and water quality, sustain creek systems through long-term stewardship and education, and celebrate the role of our urban creeks in our natural and created environments.

Description

The Creek Steward Program works in partnership with Seattle Parks and other agencies, local community groups, businesses, and schools to enhance riparian habitat along Seattle's urban Creeks. Through the Creek Steward Program, volunteers can participate in restoration work parties, and adopt a portion of a creek as a Site Steward.

Our woods and creeks play an important part of our lives. They provide the oxygen that we breath and take for granted, nature provides the fruits of our labor, they provide the fish that we eat, but yet, humans take it for granted by not cherishing our natural wildlife. Without it, how will we live? I would just like to conclude that nature is our gift from earth and that it plays and important part of our lives and we should cherish it by taking care of the environment. That means greatly reduce the trees that humans take, not littering and polluting the environment, planting more trees and plants, and keeping our wildlife clean in every way and as best as we can. Till then, mother earth can't and wont mend itself.
