Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Mission of the Monterey Park Police Department is to provide the finest police service possible. This Department strives to meet and even anticipate the law enforcement needs of our community.
We will protect the life and property of all people and ensure that our service is delivered in accordance with the highest ethical standards.
We view the community as our partner in effective law enforcement. We strive to prevent crime, aid victims, and pursue and apprehend violators with the participation and support of the residents of Monterey Park.
The employees of this police department are our greatest resource and pride. We will always try to maintain a high quality of life at work and safety for all employees.
The Monterey Park Police Reserves are a highly trained team of volunteers who provide police services while maintaining successful careers outside of law enforcement such as attorneys, business executives, business owners, and mechanics.
There are three classifications or "levels" of Reserve Police Officers. Level 1 Reserve Officers may exercise the full powers and duties of a police officer without immediate supervision. Level 2 Reserve Officers may perform the same duties, but only under immediate supervision. Level 3 Reserve Officers are limited to duties that generally do not involve direct law enforcement, such as providing security and traffic control at special events, parking enforcement, working in the jail, collecting and processing evidence, and other duties that are unlikely to result in physical arrests. The Monterey Park Police Department Reserve Program encompasses uses all three levels.
