Mission Statement
Five Rivers MetroParks is dedicated to the protection and stewardship of the greater Dayton area's natural and cultural heritage, and to provide outdoor recreational and educational opportunities. Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark is one of 25 parks within the Fiver Rivers MetroParks' system, and is arguably the finest garden park in the system.
Description
Located beside the scenic Stillwater River, Wegerzyn Gardens MatroPark is a horticultural landmark within the limits of the City of Dayton. A key feature is the newly opened Children's Discovery Garden, one of the finest children's gardens in the midwest. Wegerzyn is also known for its period gardens that reflect the unique gardening styles of the Federal, English and Victorian periods. Additional features include a sweeping array of community gardens and a shady woodland trail. Wegerzyn provides a valuable recreational, educational, and environmental resource for the surrounding neighborhoods that reflect a wide array of socio-economic demographics.
