Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity of Russell County (HFHRC) is a non-profit Christian ministry dedicated to the elimination of sbstandard housing in Russell County, Alabama. We provide opportunities for the community to show God's love in action, in partnership with people in need, by providing decent, affordable housing and improving the quality of life of our partner families.
Description
HFHRC is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and shares the vision of "a world where everyone has a decent place to live". We endeavor to work with and not for people in need; providing a "hand up" and not a "hand out". Habitat encourages an incipient sense of responsibility and ownership for volunteers, family partners and thier projects. A board of directors and an active executive committee governs our affiliate. Volunteer opportunities include construction/ building, fund development, committee membership and community outreach.
