Mission Statement

The mission of CATCO, the Contemporary American Theatre Company, is to create a resident professional theatre that presents contemporary, classic and new work, with an emphasis on American work, for an audience as diverse as our community.

Description

Founded in 1984 by Geoffrey Nelson, CATCO became recognized by the community for its attention to quality and a quirky sense of humor.

CATCO joined the Actors Equity Association in 1995 and in 1997 became a resident theatre company in the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts, downtown Columbus.

CATCO is committed to using local talent (as well as regional and national talent) and is still recognized for quality productions and quirky humor.
