Mission Statement
Provide at-risk children, youth and young adults with easy-to-understand, interactive, life-skills lessons enabling them to become informed, productive members of society.
Train staff as ARISE-Certified Life-Skills Instructors/Mentors, boosting interpersonal and communication skills. This, in turn, leads to their effectively imparting vital ARISE social skills lessons to those normally resistant to formal classroom education.
Description
ARISE research-based cognitive/behavioral skill development curricula is designed to provide at-risk youth with cognitive and behavior life skills that will assist them in changing their anti-social behaviors. Juvenile offenders and others accustomed to solving disagreements with fists, knives and guns, who attend ARISE group sessions, soon become equipped to make responsible decisions, manage their anger, and develop the social life skills society demands.
