Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

We provide informal educational opportunities for all girls aged 5-17 in areas such as science/technology, the arts, sports/fitness, leadership skill building, community service, and outdoor/environmental studies.

The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois staff and Volunteers have put a lot of hard work into have amazing programs for girls of all ages to participate in. I have been a volunteer with GSSI for the last six years and I have seen this organization grow and get better every year. From the Service Unit (used to be Neighborhood) level right up to the staff and volunteers at the Council office the main focus is offer a superior program for ALL girls. No, it is not the same Girl Scout program as when I was a Girl Scout, but they have grown and gotten better.
