Mission Statement

CommUniverCity is a collaboration of community, the university and the City of San Jose. Projects include community planning workshops, a voter registration project and a new tutoring and recess activity project at Selma Olinder Elementary school.

Our mission is to alleviate poverty by empowering low-income communities. We do this through service learning training, outreach programs and a strong partnership with The City of San Jose, San Jose State University and community members.

Description

We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate special events in the Five Wounds Brookwood Terrace neighborhood. The special events could be a weekend community gathering or spreading the word about volunteering and helping the community. Also, we will be looking for a lot of volunteers for our big service day next April.
