Mission Statement
The Santa Ana Watershed Association (SAWA) develops, coordinates and implements natural resource programs that support a sustainable ecosystem and social benefits from the San Bernardino Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. SAWA is committed to the protection and improvement of areas within the Santa Ana River Watershed.
Description
The Santa Ana Watershed Association (SAWA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that strives to restore the natural habitat of the Santa Ana River watershed. We are a leader in removing invasive species in the watershed to conserve water and provide habitat for the native species in the area. Our biologists monitor a variety of species including the endangered Least Bell’s Vireo. In 2008, the Education and Public Outreach department was created to educate students and the general public about our amazing watershed.
