The mission of the Stevens Bryant Youth Organization Mentoring Program is to empower at-risk youth in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential.
Stevens Bryant Youth Organization, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2003 in Pomona, California by a faith based grassroots individual who had a heart to see transformation in her community, Lawanda Bryant. Bryant belief that many youth in their community lacked meaningful academic, career and guidance to healthy living. Determined to make a difference, Bryant started to collaborate and partner with other faith based and community organizations.
SBYO currently operates a tutoring program and career exploration resource center and manages a community based after-school drop-in program Since its inception, SBYO has served over 400 youth and is currently expanding its scope of services to include a mentoring program for youth 8-18.
