Ecotrust's mission is to build Salmon Nation, a place where people and wild salmon thrive.

Description

OVERVIEW:
Utilizing playful and positive storytelling, Ecotrust works to articulate the idea of Salmon Nation â to promote a sense of place and stewardship among the citizens of the region.

KEY OBJECTIVES:
Reach a significant percentage of this region's residents, inspiring them to tangibly change the way they think about their relationship to nature and to become more active citizens of Salmon Nation.

Our intention is to create a sense of place using the concept of Salmon Nation. We hope to inspire a sense of pride, citizenship and responsibility in the people that live in this region. Our goal is to create a citizenry that votes and makes behavioral choices that contribute to enhancing the health of whole watersheds and the economies of the people that live in them. Salmon Nation will also be a vehicle for generating a list of friends of Ecotrust, a group we can draw on for influence, new ideas, and financial support.

When you declare your citizenship in Salmon Nation, you are joining a community of people across the region who feel that our natural boundaries define our identity as much as our political boundaries. So, we are not just citizens of California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia or Alaska â we are citizens of Salmon Nation.
