Mission Statement
The mission of the Georgia Alliance for Children is to ensure the adequacy of care and services for Georgia' s troubled children and families. We do this by developing innovative strategies, programs and materials designed to change the way people and institutions think and act concerning issues that affect children.
Description
Not your typical children's charity, the Georgia Alliance for Children was founded in 1979 by its current president, Rick McDevitt. The Alliance is widely recognized as Georgia's leading and most-effective child advocacy organization. Our focus is on boldly confronting State systems and institutions on behalf of helpless children. Our goal is ensuring that children's welfare is served, that the system works for them and not against them, and that institutions are held accountable for any harm done by lapsed oversight or failed programs.
