The mission statement of

The Cummer Museum

of Art& Gardens

· To build one of the foremost survey collections of world art in the Southeast and to develop museum gardens of regional significance; and to provide the collections and gardens with the highest level of scholarship, conservation, interpretation, and professional care.

· To work in partnership with all sectors of the community to make the museum's collections, gardens and programs serve as the region's centerpiece of education and involvement in all of the arts.

In keeping with the wishes of its founder, Nina Holden Cummer, it seeks to serve as "a center of beauty and culture" for the benefit of "all of the people".

To assist The Cummer with exhibition requirements from December 22, 2006 through March 18, 2007.
