Mission Statement

Special Olympics Northern California is a year-round sports program for children and adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. Sports training and competitions are offered for FREE throughout the state in: Alpine and Cross Country Skiing, Aquatics, Athletics (track & field), Basketball, Bowling, Figure Skating, Powerlifting, Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Golf, Cycling, Speed Skating, Floor Hockey, Tennis, Roller Skating, and Bocce. Over 14,000 athletes participate in Special Olympics Northern California

Description

Special Olympics relies on fundraising events and volunteers throughout the year to help keep our programs going strong. Through both, we have never turned an athlete away and are proud to provide free sports training for developmentally disabled individuals so he or she can gain confidence and skills and lead as normal as a life as possible.
