Mission Statement

Project Night Night is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless children, one sweet dream at a time. To this end, Project Night Night donates individual tote bags each filled with a security blanket, an age-appropriate book, and a stuffed animal to children in shelters. By providing objects of reliable comfort, Project Night Night seeks to advance the emotional and cognitive well-being of each child we help.

Description

Background

Established in 2005, Project Night Night is a 501(c)(3) California nonprofit organization that began with the belief that every child deserves a good night' s sleep. Project Night Night believes that receiving a good night's rest is critical for the healthy development of children. Children who sleep poorly at night often suffer the ill effects of inadequate sleep such as decreases in performance, concentration, learning, and health.

Voted the "Best of the Bay Area" in July 2006 by San Francisco Magazine, Project Night Night has emerged as a leading provider of nighttime comforts for homeless children.

Night Night Packages

Project Night Night' s work is carried out through Night Night Packages that are delivered to thousands of homeless and transient children in shelters across the country. Our Night Night Packages contain the fundamental items of childhood. Every child who receives one of our Night Night Packages leaves the shelter with a book which encourages reading and family bonding, a security blanket which can be cuddled, and a stuffed animal which can become a cherished friend.
