Mission Statement

Jaliya's mission is to provide various ways to help enhance the lives of participants by providing access to information and vehicles of artistic expression. The goal is to disseminate educational material including but not limited to African heritage, intercultural relations and ethnic origins through publications, lectures and other art forms to the community of Silicon Valley and Santa Clara county.

Description

Jaliya is an innovative, educational cultral arts project providing project oriented prodcuts, solutions and services for all ages:

Exercises in stage movement, acting techniques and role & charater development.

Visual Arts workshops and curated art exhibitions

Classes/Workshops/Demonstrations in Hand Drumming tecnihques, Drum Circle (West African)

African-style wedding ceremonies (jump the broom)

Readers Theatre Workshops

Poetry composition and recitation

Baccalaureate Ceremonies
