Description

Thunderbird Youth Academy is a nationally recognized program offered through the National Youth Challenge Programs, National Guard and the Oklahoma Military Department.

For the 1st 22 weeks, youth that are enrolled are in residence at TYA campus 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week with periodic weekend passes. The purpose of this phase is to instill in each Cadet a sense of self-discipline and community spirt using a variety of methods built around the programs eight core components whcih are: Academic Excellence, Life Coping Skills, Job Skills, Health and Hygiene, Responsible Citizenship, Service to the Community, Leadership/Followership, and Physical Fitness.

The program is for 16-18 yr olds who are US Citizerns wanting to obtain GED or a High School Diploma, not previously convicted of felony or captial offense and must mentally and physically able to complete the program.
