The Ohio Center for Law-Related Education (OCLRE) is a private non-profit, nonpartisan organization with a mission to improve society by developing citizens empowered with an understanding of our democratic system.
OCLRE partners with teachers to bring citizenship to life. As such, OCLRE provides academic programs for students in grades 4-12, with a focus on civic education, government and law. Student programs include Mock Trial, We the People, literature-based Middle School Mock Trial, Moot Court, Project Citizen and Youth for Justice.
All programs are aligned with state learning standards and engage students with a question to be answered and/or a problem to be solved. Collaboration is important. Every academic program incoporates a culminating activity that helps make the learning 'real' for students.
