Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
This non-profit 501(c)3 Corporation was created as a joint project of the five Kiwanis Clubs and the City of Arlington. The Board now includes additional representatives from education, non-profit, faith-based organizations, Rotary, Optimist, and UT Arlington. It also has Liaisons from the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Town of Patego, and the Vietnamese community. The purpose of the corporation is to promote the Five Promises of America's Promise and develop collaboration amoung local youth serving entitites. Through this collaboration we hope to continue Arlington's status as one of the Top 100 Best Communities for Young People.
The Corporation will raise funds, promote the program with the public, solicit grant applications from citizens, use funds to award small grants, and develop community awareness of the completed projects. The program will encourage projects and help fulfill the five promises promoted by "America's Promise." Signature programs include the Small Grants Program, Global Youth Service Day, the Extra Mile Award, the Sheris Growe Youth Service Leader of the Year, and the City's Annual Youth Collaboration Breakfast. By accomplishing these functions, the Corporation will strive to develop a highly positive Kiwanis image throughout the community and encourage membership in the Kiwanis clubs of Arlington.
