Mission Statement

Bridges of Silence provides support and services in theareas of personal, social, and academic development to at-risk youth ages 5-18. Through educational programs and community service projects, BOS equips children who have been marginalized by life circumstances with self-confidence, self-discipline, positive values and problem -solving skills, and then helps them to apply these new abilities to their own lives.

Description

Bridges of Silence encourages lifetime independence by empowering youth to be role models in their communities. Bridges of Silence After-School Ac ademic Program (A.S.A.P.) is a year- round program operating Monday through Thursday from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., with extended hours during the summer. The Bridges of Silence curriculum incorporates classes in academics (Math and Reading), leadership development, life skills, communication awareness, sensitivity training, and American Sign Language. Youth also select a project to complete from one of our outreach programs: Hands of Service, Hands of Hope Food Bank, and Helping Hands Youth Community Garden.
