Mission Statement

The mission of the Mercy Street Afterschool Program is to provide a loving Chrisitan environment for the school children of Kensington to learn, play, and grow in Christ together.

Description

The ministry was formerly known as the New Hope For Women After School Program, but this year, Tioga Heights Christian Church, where the program meets, has offered to support the ministry. With this change comes a new name: Mercy Street. The program meets on Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30pm, and is open to 1st through 5th graders. The program offers homework help, a hot meal, and loving Christian mentorship for the children of the Kensington neighborhood. It is a wonderful opportunity for the underpriveleged kids in the area, and it is also a fantastic experience for adult volunteers who long to make a lasting difference in young lives.
