Mission Statement

To use art making as a means of self expression and a bridge for communication to a multi-cultural population in a Chicago Public School.

Description

Hibbard School needs volunteers in the art room. Hibbard school is located in the heart of Albany Park at 3244 W. Ainslie, walking distance from the Brown Line. Our student body of more than twelve hundred students speaks Arabic, English, Spanish, Assyrian, Laotian, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Gujarati, Urdu, Bengali, Turkish, Korean, Persian, Bosnian, Chinese, Hindi and Portuguese. For these children art is a universal language through which they can communicate with one another while expressing their feelings, aspirations, experiences and values.

Responsibilities might include:

Organization of art materials

Keeping art materials clean and in workable condition
