Mission Statement


The mission of the Mid Lane Cares (MLC) is to foster programs to meet community needs through a vision: to inspire hope in our neighbors. We believe when you have hope, you are better able to help yourself, your family, your neighbors and others.

Description

Formerly known as Mid Lane Community Partnerships, Mid Lane Cares has been serving western Lane County residents for over thirty years. Begun in the 1970's, and sustained through the efforts of an entirely volunteer workforce, MLC helps to meet basic needs of food, assistance with fuel, utilities and prescriptions. MLC coordinates resources for youth and young adults to enhance their opportunities for positive development. MLC provides scholarships which allow young people who might otherwise be unable, to participate in art and athletic programs. Seasonally, MLCP also provides the Silver Tree and SANTA. Silver Tree provides gifts for home bound seniors and SANTA provides toys for school aged children. Respectively, an average of 40 seniors and 400 children are gifted each holiday season.
