Mission Statement

The Footlight Players was formed in 1931 by a group of Charlestonians to provide theatrical entertainment that was indigenous to the community. The Footlight Players is the oldest continuously operating community theatre in Charleston. The mission of The Footlight Players is to provide quality, affordable community theatre of a professional caliber that is barrier-free, and to provide an organization for which local volunteers can participate in all aspects of theatrical productions.
