Mission Statement

The Tindley Collegiate Academy, in collaboration with its parents and broader community, will empower its students to become successful scholars who graduate with the capacity for rigorous high school and collegiate opportunities. Tindley Collegiate will provide a nurturing learning environment that encourages professional dialogue while providing instruction that intellectually engages, inspires and spurs academic achievement through a challenging and interactive curriculum.

Description

Operated by EdPower, Tindley Collegiate is an all-female middle school designed to spark higher levels of academic achievement in girls, and to prepare them to be competitive in the global economy. Located in the Meadows area on the Northeast side of Indianapolis, it fills a critical need for strong education and community development in a low-income, urban environment.

Tindley Collegiate is an extension of the Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School, which won the Epic Award for Innovative Practices, received a Title I Distinguished School Designation, was qualified to be named an Indiana 4-Star School, and was designated a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education - all in its first seven years of operation.

Like the Tindley School, Tindley Collegiate places students in a rigorous and powerful learning environment, putting them on track for acceptance at a high-quality 4-year college or university. By providing research-based educational, social and emotional programming specifically for adolescent girls, Tindley Collegiate gives young females the tools they need to become goal-oriented, college-bound scholars.
