We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs.
Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs, enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
I had a great time. The founder bought us pizza, Popsicles and thanked us all. I got to brush dogs, and hold a hurt puppy. I loved it and will be back again, if someone's writing a bad review, maybe they didn't try hard enough to help. I had fun tasks....I love the dogs. The people running the foundation really cared about the organization, and most importantly the dogs!
I have recently volunteered at Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue Foundation and LOVED IT! Not simply because, I love dogs and get joy out of spending time with them BUT because everyone at Ace of Hearts is completely committed in trying to save as many dogs as possible! This isn’t just a job to Kari Whitman and her staff but it is their passion! They love what they do and it shows. If anyone has extra time on their hands – please reach out to Ace of Hearts to volunteer to Foster a dog or something as simple as walking a dog. I promise it will bring a smile to both you and the dog. :)
