The mission of KIPP is to help educationally underserved students develop the knowledge, skills, and character needed to succeed in college and the competitive world beyond.
Description
KIPP Reach College Preparatory is an affiliate of a national college preparatory public school system known as the Knowledge is Power Program. KIPP Reach was established in Northeast Oklahoma City in 2002.
KIPP students attend school from 7:25 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each weekday. The extended school day provides more time for reading and math. In addition to an intensive academic week, KIPP students attend Saturday enrichment classes from 8:45 a.m. to 1:05 p.m. Students are taught that they can attend college with hard work, dedication, and commitment.
KIPP schools share a core set of operating principles known as the 5 pillars which are: High Expectations, Choice and Commitment, More Time, Power to Lead, and Focus on Results.
